Hey P&G Family!
It’s been a fun Summer, and it’s been so fun to watch our team compete in all different levels of competition. From local meets, to USAW National Championship Week in Colorado Springs, and even in Cuba at the IWF Grand Prix. I don’t know about y’all, but it’s been a particularly hot one here in Georgia at HQ. We are welcoming the start of fall. With fall on the horizon, there is so much on the horizon for our team. We wanted to be able to share just a FEW of the really cool things we have ahead of us this month.
Starting this upcoming Monday, September 4th- September 18th, we will have 7 athletes competing representing 6 different counties at the IWF World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That is the most countries Power and Grace has represented internationally in competition to date. Watching these athletes prepare for competition has been really fun, and each of them have had to endure and overcome unforeseen obstacles. The work is finished, I can’t wait to see that hard work pay off on the platform. Some of these sessions are real early due to the time change- so y’all go ahead and start brewing your coffee now! Below is a list of athletes and competition times in EST. We, via the lens of our Stewart at YKS Media, will follow along with the competition. Stay tuned via Instagram!
Monday Sept 4th: Silvana Gonzalez, Team GUA, 4:30 AM
Tuesday Sept 5th: Jourdan Delacruz, Team USA, 9:30 AM
Thursday Sept 7th: Amalie Løvind, Team DEN, 4:30 AM
Saturday Sept 9th: Alexa Colwell, Team LBN, 7:00 AM

Also coming up this month, we will have a number of athletes prepared to compete at the 2023 North American Open Series 2 (NAOS2) in Pleasanton, CA. We will post updates regarding this competition following the Verification of Final Entries. For those preparing to head to NAOS2, we’re excited to watch you crush weights in competition! Following the NAOS2, our Trainheroic teams will begin prep for the NAOS Finals in Wilmington, North Carolina. If you’re looking to jump onboard, and prep for Finals check our teams out here!!
We’ve been working on a fun new project in the continuing education space, and are excited to finally be able to share that with everyone. In partnership with Dr. Matthew Myrvik, we will be hosting a 3-part monthly sports psychology webinar series. ‘The Process’ is both an effort to provide our athletes with resources to fuel their training, and to reinvest in evidence based resources for the weightlifting community at large. Click Here to learn more. Power and Grace athletes will receive free admission to the series, so please reach out if you have any questions!
The start of September means that we are just one month out from our Fall Training Camp at the Barn in Rochester, NY. We have planned a weekend full of the ingredients we believe will help you achieve success in Olympic Weightlifting, and have invited some of the most trusted professionals in the field to join us. Head Coach, Spencer Arnold will be joined by our Director of Coaching: Jessie Stemo and our CFO, and Coordinator of Training and Development: Brennen Colwell. They will dissect the Olympic lifts, provide technical feedback, and can help select specific exercises that will help you progress in the lifts. We have also invited Alexa Colwell, and her team at Cedars Nutrition to share insight on Sports Performance Nutrition and proper fueling for training. Additionally, we will be joined by Emilie Lazenby, a representative from the USOPC, and Team Canada Tokyo 2020 Olympians: Maude Charron and Kristel Ngarlem. This is a weekend intensive that you do not want to miss. There are a few spots left, click here to join us!
September is shaping up to be a busy month, and we’re excited to watch our team continue to reach their goals on and off the platform. As always, please reach out if you need anything!
In joy,
Grace
