Open season is upon us! I hope your preparation has you foaming at the mouth to see these workouts. As these workouts come out and you devise your plan for each, ensure that you are taking advantage of the best positions for your movement.
How many times has excitement led athletes to throw everything out the window to just ‘get it done’… fight the urge! Trust your movement!
With that being said, the next five weeks will highlight some mobility and basic movement patterns that we often see in the Open. Good luck to you all!
This past week at Traincation 2015 we saw some impressive displays of performance. However, one thing we saw in multiple athletes was a lack of reach/mobility for the Arch position of the kip. Let us address this..
A) Foam roll upper back/T-spine for 2 min.
B) Foam roll mid back for 2 min.
C) 2 sets of 10 Arch rocks
D) 2 sets of 10 hollow/arch swings on bar (set up a camera and ensure you are staying tight and getting the most out of your arch position before you snap to the hollow and kip)
