I would assume that regionals dialed everyone back in with understanding the importance of absolute strength. Our sport seems to be so complex but at the same time, very simple. If we always strengthen the fundamental movements and clean up movement, what ever that may be, you are doing better than most.
I put a 30/18 strict pull-up challenge on the table some time ago… people were apparently hesitant to join in ;)..With that being said, I would assume every games athlete has incorporated some sort of strict pull-up variation into their training regimen. I understand that the pull-up numbers for the male/female of 30/18 is a bit high, but I believe that if you work to hit these numbers, you will be very strong at any other movement involving a pull-up bar and a set of rings….keep it simple, put the work in, and leave the excuses for everyone else..
