We are four workouts into the CrossFit Games with one more on the horizon. They just announced the Friday night event and finally we get to do a little bit of CrossFit. 21-15-9 with a barbell movement and a pull-up bar complex. Eight reps on the DL, seven cleans, six snatch then eight pull-ups, seven chest to bar pull-ups, and six for bar MU with descending reps to the end from there.
The athlete’s are taking a beating already proving they have a whole lot of fitness combined with a whole lot of resilience. They have a long weekend ahead of them and as with most CrossFit Games the winner will be as much the most fit person as the most resilient and unbreakable. Unbreakable mentally and physically.
To give you an update on our athletes Jeff is performing exactly as we imagined and is staying the course with strategy and meeting expectations for the workouts. As this is his first CrossFit Games there are a lot of new experiences for him but he’s managing to step to the plate and perform exactly as he has prepared. He’s consistent beyond measure.
Emily has done very well for herself. After surviving some of her weaker workouts she surprised herself with a fifth-place finish on the first sled push followed by a twelfth place finish on the second. She currently sits middle of the pack and is poised for a continued climb up the leaderboard.
As we approach what appears to be more CrossFit style workouts I expect Jeff and Emily to excel. We got them ready to do CrossFit knowing we would spend at least a couple days doing something a little unorthodox. Now we hope that the workouts will step into our wheelhouse. Day 2 complete. (Almost)
