Hey guys for those of you keeping up with the Mid American Championships this weekend in Bentonville, Power and Grace took 3 podium spots!
Emily Carothers snagged second place behind Sam Briggs on the women’s division and Jeff Germond took third place on the men’s side.
Team Power and Grace secured third place on the team event. What’s more, the team was filled with athletes who had already competed in the individual events!
Pretty good for athletes who have just come off the Games.
Also, for those of you following the blog we will be making a shift starting tomorrow in the programming for the blog on the weightlifting and next week that shift will happen on the competition side.
For the weightlifting side, remember I stated that we are planning to hit a max effort competition style max (hopefully inside a sanctioned meet) on October 11th. That means that starting this week we will shift to more lifting from the floor and less of a focus on the strength gain and the complexes. With 6 weeks left until max lifts it’s time to put that strength gain to work. More on this in a later post.
On the competition programming side, you will see an intentional focus on the perfection of the lifts (think high rep, low percentage work) starting next week over the next 6 weeks BECAUSE after that we will move into an in-season, open-prep cycle designed to take all the strength gained and the movement perfected and put it to work inside an AMRAP style workout. More on this to come as well.
Congrats team Power and Grace for a successful weekend. For those of you following the blog, the next 6 weeks will be a fun time for you.
