It’s time to move from feeling overwhelmed to being in complete control. “Master the Warm-up Room” is the definitive course for Olympic weightlifting coaches who want to conquer the complexities of competition day management. Stop guessing at jumps and start strategically navigating the session to put your lifter in the perfect position to succeed.
This course provides a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know to command the back room with confidence. You will master the entire timeline of a meet and learn how to use every minute to your advantage. We’ll dive deep into the critical IWF regulations that dictate the flow of the competition, including athlete order, the one and two-minute clocks, and the strategic declaration and change process for all three attempts.
You will also learn how to leverage the clock to your athlete’s benefit, including how and when to make changes to avoid a rushed attempt. The course covers how to handle unexpected delays like jury deliberations or technical stops, and the rules governing weight changes so you never put your athlete in a compromising position. We will teach you how to effortlessly read and interpret both modern electronic boards and traditional paper systems, allowing you to anticipate jumps and stay ahead of the competition. Finally, you will put your knowledge to the test with real-world scenarios, working through images from competitions to simulate the pressure and decision-making of a live meet.
As part of the course, you will receive a printable warm-up sheet for tracking attempts, jumps, and timing, as well as a printable pocket-sized rules card with the most critical rules for quick reference in the heat of the moment.
