If you’ve been following any of our online weightlifting programs, you’ll notice that we’re changing gears and will be introducing a new cycle to start the new year. For some of you this might be exciting, but for others, you’ve realized the coming of a new cycle means back to the dreadful 10’s, complexes, and “cardio” as some might suggest. Luckily, your eagerness to hit new PR’s and get stronger helps you embrace “the suck,” right?
Here are some tips that might help you feel better prepared.
- Write down SPECIFIC goals that you want to achieve this cycle. Place your goals somewhere you can see them every day as motivation and reassurance.
- Get a plan for your diet, sleep, and recovery. For example, start following a nutrition plan that is designed to keep you healthy and strong; set a routine sleep schedule if you don’t already have one (include ideal bedtimes and wake-up times); schedule regular appointments with a PT, Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, whatever works for you.
- Commit to following the program thoroughly. Commit to doing the warm up and cool downs written for you. Commit to doing ALL the reps and sets (however, don’t forget to listen to your body and be smart). Commit to going to the gym with a positive mindset.
We wish everyone a very strong cycle with many PRs!
