Today’s video is of a pretty awesome PR from one of our Deep Barbell followers. When I first watched the video I was immediately concerned how the lift would look based on the setup and first pull. Fortunately, Alex proved my concerns to be futile as his explosiveness and power helped him to overcome some small technical faults.
It is crucial you bring the bar back to you and get the weight of the bar over your center of pressure in your feet. Leaving the bar out over your toes and away from your center of pressure will always leave you reaching for the bar in the turnover. It also puts you in a compromised position during the recovery, especially at maximal level weights. Alex manages to overcome that with this lift, but he wasn’t so lucky on his 270# pound clean attempt.
