“When you have some goal out there that you’re stretching for and reaching for that takes you out of your comfort zone, you’ll find out some talents and abilities you have that you didn’t know you have.”
Tomorrow starts the week Bulgarian cycle. I am preparing a write up walking through what that looks like and the purpose and design of the program. That will post tomorrow. However, you can trust that the program we start tomorrow will be mentally more challenging than it is physically though it will physically be a beating. There will be days when you feel like you’re half the athlete you normally are and 70% feel like a PR. That’s the struggle. Those are the days you have to push a bit harder and be precise in your movement.
This type of program will force you to grow as an athlete mentally more than many of you may be prepared for. I remember the week mid-way through these types of cycle where I questioned even my involvement in the sport. Trust it. Also, try and workout with people on those days. They may not be having a hard day and their energy may help yours.
I’m a cheesy, easily motivated type of athlete and motivational videos often are my go to. Here’s one I stumbled on yesterday that I want to lend to yall if it will help you through this cycle.
Here’s some highlights:
“Unless you attempt to do something beyond that which you have already mastered you will never grow.”
“You don’t beg average people to be phenomenal, you don’t beg good people to be phenomenal.”
“Greatness is a lot of small things done well. Day after day. Workout after workout. Obedience after obedience. Day after day.”
