I know that every now and then I will get a reader from another country or a reader who differs in political opinion from me. However, today we can all agree on the principle behind American Independence Day. Freedom is preferred, freedom is a blessing many don’t have, and freedom always comes at a price.
As a Christian, I know the feeling of having deserved nothing but condemnation and been given freedom at the cost of Christ. As an American, I can appreciate that without the sacrifice of our Armed Forces men and women to give me the freedom I enjoy everyday.
Today, we celebrate the freedom that was fought and died for by our first soldiers and is continually upheld by them today. Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
