Description
Sports Psychology Webinar Series with Dr. Matthew Myrvik
Through his experience in working with athletes within the field of weightlifting, Dr. Myrvik has noticed several common themes.ย First, weightlifting is about a strive for perfection.ย Although this approach can lead to amazing results, it can result in challenges.ย Second, weightlifting can be a long, tedious grind with slow results.ย Although this is the chosen path, it can be a struggle with motivation.ย Finally, although success is measured in weight, it is also measured in victories and with competition can come nerves and confidence concerns.ย The aim of this series of webinars is to provide weightlifters with strategies to address the struggles that come with a perfection-based sport (first webinar), sustained goals/motivation for success (second webinar), and competition anxiety and confidence (third webinar).

He is nationally qualified as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and is a registered Sport Psychologist with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
