nThe individuals are preparing to begin day two. Power and Grace had a excellent first day outperforming some of our own expectations and landing more than our fair share of top 10 workouts and top 10 finishes in total standings.
Up in the North Central Regional Phil Kniep walked away with a second-place finish in the hang snatch at 270, a ninth place finish with 225 feet in the HS walk and his 8:52 time on Nasty Girls V2 scored him third. Phil had a great first day sitting second place just one point behind first place Alex Nettey.
Tristan started the weekend out with a bang. She snatch 150 on her second attempt with ease and I gave her the go-ahead to attempt 160. The 160 weight would have landed her fourth but she missed it barely behind her. Her ninth place finish with 150 added to her second-place finish HS walk with 295 feet had her well-placed going into Nasty Girls. The dreaded muscle ups slowed her down a bit on Nasty Girls and she currently sits in eighth place overall heading into day two. Today looks very favorable for her.
Kara, just a year into her competitive CrossFit venture, struggled a little bit early but ended the day with an eighth place finish and a time of 11:39 on Nasty Girls V2. She currently sits in 20th with her worst workouts behind her.
Today is the big day for everybody. Testing and looking at results for the workouts on day two I am sure that results for day two will be a telltale sign for who will end up on the podium at the end of the weekend. The combination of strict handstand push-ups after all the HS walking yesterday as well as the grip fatigue from nasty girls combined with the legless rope climb emphasis will make today the hardest day. Today is the day to put your nose to the ground and grind. Strategy will be key and performance of that specific strategy will be the determining factor for who sits at the top of the leaderboard today.
Regional athletes go get it today. To God be the glory.
