Well if you’ve been following the blog you’ve noticed that life has been a little crazy in the Power and Grace household. We decided to step our social media game up over this past week and create a Facebook page that will post our workouts and blogs too. (no more clogging up of my page) We “hired” a good friend of ours Joseph Williams to help with the Instagram and other outlets and be able to give y’all some credit for some of the big lifts you post day in and day out. So if you are into social media make sure you tag us in your Power and Grace work and your lifts so we can show the world how awesome you are.
Also, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I got a little bit of flack for my American Weightlifting top 10 choices for the year but it’s called a top 10 for a reason. I thought I would do a quick honorable mention of some people that maybe should’ve made the list or for one reason or another I did not feel like made the top 10 but were certainly close. The three that come to mind immediately are Ian Wilson’s American record snatch as a junior lifter. He probably would’ve made the top 10 had he done anything competitive sense. I think he has been battling some injuries and as a result has not been able to do much as of late. Some other lifts that could’ve made the top 10 were anything out of D’Angelo Osorio. Granted he is not standing on top of podiums yet but for being as young as he is and as dedicated as he is it won’t be long. Lastly Morghan King is certainly worth being in the honorable mention. She has made a massive improvement over the course of the last year and in doing so has moved up as one of the most competitive weightlifters in the country who has just as good a shot if not better than any of our top five women at taking an Olympic spot next year.
Finally, i’m currently finishing up all of the loose ends (aka the loose kilos) to get ready to head to Thailand for the University World Championships this week. You will be getting some updates from me during that travel time and during competition. What’s more, I come back and immediately head to the American Open in DC. It’s going to be an awesome two weeks of weightlifting. For a guy like me this is the best time of the year. I can’t wait to compete in Chang Mai and then turn around a week later and see what I still have left for the American Open (as a 77KG lifter. Furthermore, there are a lot of Power and Grace weightlifters gearing up for the American open. I will highlight them over the next couple weeks so you can be on the lookout for them as well.
