I just made it back to my house after an incredible weekend spent in Cheshire, Connecticut at 3E CrossFit. I met the owner of 3E in Dallas while working out at CrossFit Deep. He was in town hanging out with his brother and stumbled into the gym looking around and asking questions as he prepared to open his new spot up in Connecticut. Ed and I immediately hit it off and begin planning a time when I could come up and help teach the lifts to his newly formed gym members. This past weekend I got the opportunity to walk through the basics and more advanced elements of the snatch and clean and jerk. We got to break down the lifts even so far as to look at set up positions based on segment lengths and biomechanical differences. The seminar was awesome, lots of incredible questions were asked, and a couple people hit some long time-coming PR lifts. The last session was one of the most exciting sessions I’ve been a part of in the last couple of years. Incredible energy.
We had a wide variety and range of skill levels in the room. We had some who had been around lifting for a number of years and even had their level two coaching qualifications with USAW. On the other end of the spectrum, we had a girl who would never snatched or clean and jerked ever in her entire life. It was awesome to get to work with both. Thank you 3E CrossFit and family for your hospitality, kindness, and effort. It’s always refreshing to work with a group of athletes who, regardless of skill level, give everything they have all the time.
