So a couple quick announcements on a Sunday evening before the week gets started for y’all. For those of you following the Weightlifting blog, you may have noticed next week begins our competition final preparation meso-cycle. What that means is over the next three weeks we will be following a semi-Bulgarian style prep and y’all will be lifting heavy loads from the floor every day. What you can expect is this week to be very very tired and hopefully by the middle of next week to have adapted to that new stimulus before we taper just a bit in preparation for the competition day in three weeks. Enjoy this Monday and Tuesday as you will be fresh and likely will hit heavier numbers than you have before. The next three weeks will be, hopefully, an affirmation of 18 weeks of hard work.
On the competition end now that last week is complete, it looks like y’all were all very successful with “The Gauntlet.” That’s a fun complex that I think we will reprogram on a pretty regular basis for you to compare times and numbers to. As far as I know the winning time was 3:30 by Jeff Germond. I may be missing somebody but as far as the comments go on the blog and what I’ve heard from our athletes who completed it, 3:30 was the time to beat. Great work everybody.
Lastly you can expect a couple things this upcoming week on the blog. Firstly, we have a couple youth athletes getting ready for a U15 competition up at the Olympic training Center so I’ll be featuring some of their lifts coming up. Also I will be releasing two new camps for the team and I that I think are worth taking a look at as their destinations will be a first time event for Power and Grace. Keep your eyes on the blog this week.
